General Directorate for health prevention
The General Directorate for health prevention (Italian acronym: Dgps
) belongs to the prevention and communication Department of the Ministry of Health and deals with the following issues:
- health of mothers, babies, during the development age and of the elderly
- infectious and diffusive diseases
- pollution, dangerous substances and radiations
- health at home and in the workplace
- drug addiction
- mental health, civil invalidity, disability
- safeguarding the health-hygiene characteristics of water
- blood and blood products, organ transplant
- bio-technologies
- health of immigrants, stateless individuals, political refugees, foreigners
- bio-terrorism.
